The Good Deed
While visiting my aunt one day I was watching her cat play with her toys and various other objects that she found interesting. Suddenly, she spotted something up on the table and leaped up to get it. It was a prescription pill bottle which rattled nicely when she batted and rolled it around. After a while she lost interest and found something else to play with. When it came time for my aunt to take her medicine, the bottle was nowhere to be found. We searched and searched to no avail. Suddenly we hear a noise and here comes her cat with the bottle securely in her mouth. The cat was given a lovely treat as a reward. After enjoying her treat she went and curled up in her comfy cat bed knowing she had done a good deed.
The Fisherman?
The Fisherman?
My friend has a goofy little cat named “Buddy”. He loves to play in the fish tank even though he really doesn’t care about the fish. He will sit next to it, dip his paw in and splash the water. This is his favorite game. Whenever some walks by him when he is near the fish tank they unexpectedly get wet! You look at him and he is all wide-eyed innocence. The “who me” look. This was his favorite game for some time. One day, the fish tank had been moved to an inaccessible place and he was devastated. However, he discovered she had purchased a wonderful cat gym for him which he decided was even better than the fish tank!
Stewart

There once was a cat named Stewart
He always thought he was very smart
But one day he met his “waterloo”
Twas a feisty little dog named “Foo”
A merry chase he gave with no gain
Failure to catch the little dog was plain
To salve and ease his injured ego
Stewart went and hid in his condo
Cat Confessions
I confess, I’m hooked on silly cat YouTube videos. And since it’s Friday, why not have a little fun. Here’s a great video produce by Paul Klusman TJ Wingard titled, “An Engineer’s Guide to Cats” featuring Oscar, Ginger & Zoë. It’s a little long so get some popcorn and perhaps an adult beverage, sit back & enjoy next to your little buddy perched on their favorite cat tower.
Credits: “Two professional engineers illustrate the proper care and practical benefits of cats. None of the cats, humans, or engineers were mistreated in the making of this film. They were however, slightly annoyed. Song on ending credits is called “Sparky’s New Bike” from Shockwave-sound.com royalty free music website.
Facts About Declawing Your Cat
“Never try to teach a pig to sing; it frustrates you and annoys the pig. Translate this bit of wisdom to your dealings with cats and you’ll avoid a good deal of futility and frustration.” – Mark Twain

Dr. Schelling’s article thought the long title may be perhaps a little too long, authors an absolutely terrific article, extremely well written, funny and informative. A “don’t miss” for cat owners everywhere!

Dr. Schelling’s theme; Knowledge is Power covered by 7 clearly-explained lessons:

- Start them young.
Plus… some alternate solutions are also offered. Please take just a moment to learn more about how to handle your cat’s scratching behavior before you consider declawing.
Tigger

Tigger
There once was a cat named “Tigger”
Who imagined himself very much bigger
A bully he became
Loving the new game
Until he met feisty little miss
He could not scare with his hiss
She turned on him with a growl
That, really made him run and yowl
What an awful scare she gave him
He ran and hid in his cat condominium
High Roller?

We a have big gray and white tomcat named “Squeak”, a name which was really only applicable as a kitten. He loves to sleep in and on high places, especially the ironing board. The problem with this is the stress he puts on my mother! Every time she enters the room where he is sleeping, he rolls over toward her and off the edge of whatever he is sleeping on. He expects her to catch him and she has to rush over and grab him before he hits the floor totally limp. It is quite a problem for her at times but we found a solution. A lovely cat hammock to sleep in and he is so comfy in it he quit playing his game and mom no longer has to rush and catch him!
Cat’s Purr: Feline Phenomenon
I read an article today by Leslie A. Lyons published by the Scientific American about purring. I’ve decided there are few other sounds which compare to a purr – I call it the sound of love. OK, so the experts say that cats purr even in stressful situations, but not mine. No, instead she just sheds and sweats. Doofie is definitely a purrer. Even in mid-air she’ll either start or stop a purr on her path closer to me. OK, so the sound is produced by the laryngeal and diaphragmatic muscles at a frequency of 25 and 150 Hertz. Dr. Lyons’ article suggest the energy produced by purring may aid in bone density and to promote healing through muscle strengthening. So, even though the experts suggest a more scientific function of purring, I’m still going to say, if you want to hear what love sounds like, listen to your cat’s purr.
Modern Cat Condo Passes Feline Test
Sly’s modern cat condo arrived this weekend. First, let me extol the excellent packing, delivered in perfect condition even though it traveled all the way from Germany! I am a bit like Rachel Maddow is about infrastructure when it comes to realistic packing. The very second I got it out of the box, Sly was in it! He adores it so much we haven’t had a chance to mount it on the wall. Every time there’s a lull in the chore list I think, now I’ll get the Rondo installed, he’s asleep in it! It is extremely-well made and so beautiful that even if he hadn’t become so attached to it right “out of the box” I would have been happy enough with it to find other uses for it [a multi-purpose cat condo!!] But he does love it so it’s a huge success all round. Thanks! – Diane

Room For One More Cat?
No… I don’t think so! Or if there is one more, we’ll have to ask the guys already in their preferred spots, which one is going give up their new favorite cat perch! Meet sweet Miss Melody (top), Max; middle perch who looks like he was built right onto it (!) & Nile; the cool-looking guy on the bottom shelf ready to fight-off any unwelcomed interloper! Most definitely, they’re all enjoying their new 47” custom Kitty Hotel with Perch Top. Here’s what their humans had to say:
“I’m sending as an attachment a picture of our kitties enjoying their new kitty condo. As you can see, they have really taken to it!!! Melody, the smallest of the trio, loves sitting on the perch, while Max and Niles play tag on the lower levels. We had originally planned on putting the condo in the office, next to the window. However, we decided to leave it in the living room for our enjoyment, too! You’ve made a product that is attractive enough to have in the living room and sturdy enough to hold up to the Melody, Max & Nile’s Test! Thanks again!”
