Heated Cat BeadI have a good friend Jim, who visits regularly and he and my cat Misty, have really bonded over time. It took some time as he had never been around cats. It is a lot of fun to watch them interact. When he goes into the TV room she eagerly follows him as she loves his attention and even demands it now. He will sit on the sofa and she will sit on the floor in front of him. She sits staring up at his face and swishing her tail. After he makes eye contact with her she will jump up on the arm of the sofa next to him. She watches his hand, and when he lifts it up she will twist her head around to get under it. From this point on it is a series of moving her head from one position to another showing him just where she wants to be scratched or rubbed. All the while he is doing this, he talks to her. When she has had enough she will sit up tall for him to pet her head and down her back. Now, she is finished and will go and curl up on her cozy heated cat bed leaving him to watch his program on TV peacefully!

Cat Bed Bassinet?

Author: Lady Jane

thermo-kitty-cat-bed.jpgMy daughter has 2 elderly cats and a brand-new grandson. Her daughter and the baby stayed with her the first week after he was born. After they arrived, it became an interesting week. At first, the cats totally shunned my daughter! How dare she bring that interloper in! When they realized he wasn’t going to go away, little by little, they came around. Her female cat became interested in the baby. The male cat, however, was totally jealous. Whenever my daughter held the baby he would jump into her lap and squeeze himself in between her and the baby. He would eye the bassinet when she would go to put the baby down. Thank goodness he is no longer able to jump that high. The perfect solution was to buy him a Thermo-Kitty Cat Bed to use as his own bassinet where he could curl up whenever she put the baby in his. Both “babies” were able to nap at the same time in their respective bassinets and the jealousy abated!

Cat Talk from Lady Jane

thermo-kitty-cuddle-up-cat-bed.jpgCats are amazing creatures and awesome to watch! Their lithe movements and supine positions are reminiscent of a well-oiled precision machine. Innate hunting skills allow them to survive even in the strangest situations. Independent and quirky personalities of cats are the delight of many pet owners. Several well used sayings about cats come to mind while watching our pets. “She walks on silent cat feet”, and “Dogs have masters, but cats have staff”. It is always surprising when a cat suddenly appears as if from nowhere. It can cause you to wonder!
Most cats love their toys and have playful natures. It is interesting to see what they find to play with that can keep them busy for some time. As much as they love their toys, they love a warm place to snuggle and snooze. Heated cat beds and cat condos are an ideal place for them to nap. They also like cat trees for exercise (especially indoor cats), and are great fun to watch while playing in one. Yes, we pamper our pets, and why not? They are a wonderful source of comfort and companionship. Watching their antics can amuse us for hours.

Making Your Cat as Comfortable as Possible

Making sure your cats are as comfortable as possible is usually a matter of ensuring they have all their basic needs met in a day. If you’re not sure that you’re fulfilling all these requirements, just think of what you need in a day. You need hearty and nutritious meals and access to pure, clean water. The same is true of your pet. (Although, what’s nutritious for you isn’t necessarily nutritious for your cat!)

And you also need some small creature comforts like a comfortable bed. Again, the same is true for your cats. With kitty beds, make sure that the pillow or bedding is large enough for your cat to stretch out. This will maximize the comfort offered by these pieces of bedding. Also, make sure it’s washed often and properly. This will stop your cat from being exposed to any unpleasant entities that might collect on the bed itself.

Is Your Cat a Fickle Lover?

Cat KissesCats are well noted for their independent and quirky natures.  Their personalities vary as much as their coloring.  My Blue Point Siamese is no exception.  He is a true “people” cat; outgoing, friendly & very loving.  In the mornings, he loves to have a cup of coffee with me.  Yes, he really does drink coffee … without cream in case you’re wondering!  After his morning coffee, he curls up in his heated cat bed for a nap.

When visitors arrive, he is the first at the door to greet them.  Next to snoozing, his favorite thing to do is “kiss” people!  We love to play cards and the family gets together often to do so.  When everyone is seated at the table (and there may be as many as 9 of us(!) undaunted, he leaps into the midst of everyone and makes the rounds from person to person “kissing” them, but always ignoring one.  It is never the same person each time.  He only does this when everyone is seated around the table talking or playing games.  While he is making his rounds everyone is held in suspense waiting to see who will be left out.  This is his version of a game!

From Cold Kitties To Purring Paws

Elderly people tend to get cold easily, this is because as the body ages the circulation becomes constricted and warm blood takes longer to reach certain parts of the body, like the hands and feet.

Animals also can also experience this problem. If your family dog or cat is getting up there in years, they may also be having a tough time staying warm, especially if they have a short coat.

To check if your kitty, or dog is cold try touching the tips of their nose–if it’s cool, than their probably cold. With cats you can also feel their paw pads—if they are chilly, than kitty is cold. Also, if your pal’s nose is running, it may be a sign they could benefit from some extra heat.
