Room For One More Cat?
No… I don’t think so! Or if there is one more, we’ll have to ask the guys already in their preferred spots, which one is going give up their new favorite cat perch! Meet sweet Miss Melody (top), Max; middle perch who looks like he was built right onto it (!) & Nile; the cool-looking guy on the bottom shelf ready to fight-off any unwelcomed interloper! Most definitely, they’re all enjoying their new 47” custom Kitty Hotel with Perch Top. Here’s what their humans had to say:
“I’m sending as an attachment a picture of our kitties enjoying their new kitty condo. As you can see, they have really taken to it!!! Melody, the smallest of the trio, loves sitting on the perch, while Max and Niles play tag on the lower levels. We had originally planned on putting the condo in the office, next to the window. However, we decided to leave it in the living room for our enjoyment, too! You’ve made a product that is attractive enough to have in the living room and sturdy enough to hold up to the Melody, Max & Nile’s Test! Thanks again!”
Sincerely,
Ron & Marsha :: Orange County CA
Roving Cat Perch Finds Home
Several weeks ago, a customer emailed indicating she measured incorrectly after receiving her new custom cat perch. I emailed a couple of ideas to try to solve her problem, but eventually she decided to start over with the order. I agreed to have the perch returned since my custom shop’s policy states “complete satisfaction.” Well, I learned … not exactly! Nonetheless, MyCatsHeaven is committed to our Customer Satisfaction Guarantee so we honored our policy.
Within hours of arranging return shipping with FedEx, I received a very special email from a couple of Girl Scouts requesting a donation. Amy & Catlin indicated they are trying to earn a Girl Scout Bronze Award, the highest honor in Junior Girl Scouts. To earn this prestigious award, they are providing foster-care for a mother cat & her family of 5 kittens, caring for them until they are adopted. They’re working with the Foothills Animal Rescue in Arizona. Once their 4-footed guests are adopted, they plan to donate the perch to the animal clinic to be used by other cats also awaiting adoption.
I received a delightful“thank you”email from the girls with a photo of mother cat, Chelsey & her young family named: Mille, Gracie, Gizmo, Splash & Misty. The perch arrived last week with this email update:
Hi Nancy!
The perch arrived while we were at Girl Scouts! Wow … is it ever neat! Chelsey went straight to it and claimed the top area and started grooming herself. It took literally seconds for her to be on it! We will put it where the babies can get to it later – as they are only 3 weeks old tomorrow. Again thank you so much for your generosity!
Our pleasure, ladies! Besides, Chesley deserves more than a cardbroad box to raise her young family! Good luck in earning your Girl Scout Bronze Award!

Spoiled Cat!
Today, I decided to rearrange my office furniture. Even though I’m in Arizona, we still have “winter” weather – brisk. Because of it, my cat Doofie has been an unbelievable pest! First she wants out, so I make a special trip to the door as she trots in front of me, leading me the way like I didn’t know! She’s a very smart cat – has me very well trained! Then she wants back in; too cold outside! All day long, this has been happening since the beginning of the year. So this morning, I decided I needed to move my laptop desk out from underneath the window to accommodate her cat tree. Immediately, she figured out the whole arrangement. Up the tree to sit on the top perch, back down to sit on the sill, off to the floor to use her scratch post! Just as things should be; spoiled, spoiled … down right spoiled!
Custom Cat Perch Replaces Box Lid
Meet Kiki…. She likes to read her Sunday morning paper lying in the middle of the family room floor in her not-so-snazzy box lid. Pet parent, Alan decided to upscale her digs with a custom 3-sided window cat perch. Although she already had a window perch, he thought perhaps she might especially enjoy the luxury of style by mirroring the design of the perch to match her proclivity to her cardboard lid. It fostered ‘almost’ instant snuggles, happily perched during her afternoon naps to enjoy the outdoor neighborhood happenings. Another spoiled kitty!!
The Pet Crate on the Camping Trip
A much anticipated long summer vacation included a camping trip to Yellowstone National Park was about to begin. With several children and a very large cat in tow, we packed our supplies in the old station wagon.
We arrived at Yellowstone Park anxious to explore. The camp was set up and the Wicker Pet Crate Cabinet placed in the car, and off we went.
Bridal Shower for a Cat?
When my sister met her husband, they were both young singles sharing apartments with their respective cats. Their big concern was whether or not their cats would be compatible. After much growling and hissing, the cats came to terms and decided they liked each other. Whenever they were together they played and played and had a really good time.A bridal shower was given for my sister by her friends (many of them are cat lovers). After opening her gifts, several large packages were still sitting on the floor. When she questioned someone about them, they brought them over to her. What a surprise when she opened them! She started giggling before revealing the contents. There was a cat tree, a kitty condo, and hand painted feeding bowls! Her friends had decided that her cat needed a bridal shower too.
The Cat Condo King
Animals can be as funny and a quirky as humans. If you take the time to get to know them, you know they all have distinct personalities. Some have very definite prejudices towards people and foods. My daughter inherited two gorgeous chows when she got married. She had two middle aged to elderly cats.
The female cat is rather docile but the male will stand against people or animals if he thinks his territory is threatened. The female chow was the aggressive one while the male was pretty laid back and would only sometimes follow her lead. Whenever the front doorbell would ring, the female dog (Sasha) would chase the female cat (Sugar) down the hall and into the bedroom. One day, Sasha mistakenly chased the male cat (Chess) down the hall, and reaching the bedroom door; he turned and stared her down. She was so surprised when he stood up to her; she actually backed her way down the hall. When she left, he went into the room and curled up on the top of his cat condo to keep an eye on things.
Missy and the Knitted Cat Bed
Fritz was a big black and white angora tom cat who lived with us on the farm when I was a child. He was supposed to be a barn cat, but his superior attitude and deference to my mother earned him a place in the house. Still…he was a “tom” and would often spend nights out sowing his “wild oats”. One rainy summer night he was yowling at the back door to be let in. He came in, but not alone. He brought a guest, a small undernourished female, wet and bedraggled. I grabbed a towel and dried her off discovering that she was pregnant! Naturally, we had to adopt her! I took over the care of “Missy” and tried to make her comfortable in a box in my room. She preferred to be in my toy box among my doll clothes. Mom bought her a beautiful knitted cat bed, I placed a doll blanket in it and she happily curled up in the cat bed. Missy accepted the cat bed just in time as 3 days later she gave birth to 4 beautiful kittens, one black and three black and white just like Fritz.
The KatKabin Teaser
It was summer and our big, fluffy cat, John, loved to be outside. One bright sunny day a mockingbird landed on our fence and spied the cat! Well, the bird took it from there. He taunted the cat who naturally, went after him. The jumped up on the fence, but the wily bird flew up to the roof. The cat leaped up to the roof and the bird flew down to the picnic table. The cat landed on the picnic table and the bird took off to the fence. When the cat tired of the chase he would retire to his KatKabin. The bird would then sit on the fence and call, “kitty, kitty, kitty”, until the cat would flatten his ears and shoot out of the Kat Kabin and resume the chase. After a month, the bird finally tired of taunting the cat and flew off. Once again our summer days were quiet and restful and the cat could enjoy the yard.
The Cat Condo Refuge
It was a lovely summer evening , my husband and I were sitting on the patio drinking a glass of iced tea and enjoying the slight breeze. The sounds of nature were all around us. The cat was sitting peacefully along side of us.Our cat, Taz (aptly named for the Tasmanian Devil), could intimidate any four legged creature in the neighborhood, especially large dogs. Suddenly, he spotted a mouse. He lazily watched the mouse run around on the patio, while making no attempt to chase it. Finally he looked at me. The look clearly said, “Hey mom! Are you going to catch that mouse or not”? When I made no move to go and catch the mouse, he gave me a disgusted look and stalked off into the house, and curled up on top of his cat condo. The mouse had another day of freedom!
