Cat “Helpers”

Author: Lady Jane

Pawprint TunnelWe all know how some cats love to “help” their owners with their daily chores while others could care less. My cat is one of the “helpers”. When I make the bed, she runs in, jumps up on the bed and pushes the spread under the pillows. (I couldn’t do it without her)! If I’m cooking she’s in the kitchen doing what she can to help. You know, batting at soapsuds is a big chore! When the Christmas tree went up, she really excelled! Playing with the branches and bits of flocking on the floor and then laying under the tree to keep it safe! The hanging crystal drops fascinate her. Due to her activities I know just what “Santa” will bring her..a  Pawprint Tunnel and Condo Play Center  from My Cat’s Heaven.

A Kitten Named Puff

Author: Lady Jane

Scratching Mouse

There once was a kitten named Puff
Just a cute little ball of fluff
She loved to run and play
Climbing curtains and making them sway
Away she’d run knowing that was naughty
When confronted she became very haughty
Off she would go and hide in her condo
Round and round in it she would go
Then she’d cuddle and purr to make amends
So Folks, this is how my story ends!

“Joe” and His Cat Tree

Author: Lady Jane
Victoria cat tree
There once was a kitten named “Joe”
And he NEVER moved very slow
Cat trees were his treasure
Each providing him with pleasure
Up at the top he figured he was safe
From a great big fluffy dog named “Rafe”
He would tease and torment his pal
And then he’d race down the hall
Up his cat tree he would go
This fast moving kitten named “Joe”.

Knitted Cat Bed Haven

Author: Lady Jane

baby-and-kitten.JPGWhen our daughter was toddling around, everything fascinated her! We got a kitten at that time, and they bonded immediately and became almost inseparable. One of our friends brought her a little goldfish in a bowl. We placed the bowl up on a small table where it was visible to her. Later that same day, we had a couple of those “Kodak Moments” with the baby and the kitten. The baby was up on her tip toes on one side of the fishbowl and the kitten up on the table on the other side. They were both wide-eyed watching the fish swim around. It made for a darling photo! After a while, they both became bored and disappeared. We went to look for them and found them both curled up fast asleep in the kitten’s knitted cat bed. Picture time again!

Keep your Kitten Busy

Author: Lady Jane

tp_43571.jpgWhat has your kitten done today? Did it climb your best curtains, or your leg? How about the claw sharpening? Did the kitten use your favorite chair, a choice basket, or a piece of wicker or sea grass furniture? What little rascals they can be! These adorable little balls of fluff can be little (or big) headaches. However, these darling little kittens can provide hours of entertainment and companionship. Cat trees, cat perches, condos and scratchers are all great play areas for kittens and grown cats as well. How we love to pamper our pets with these wonderful play items! These “toys” save our household furnishings while providing a healthy environment for our precious pets.

A Kitten Nest for Louise

Author: Lady Jane

kitten-nest.jpgLouise was a small calico cat, and Wilson a sleek black handsome male. Together they produced four very lively kittens. Louise took very good care of her family and as the kittens got older they grew more and more active! One day they were especially rambunctious and she was getting tired of constantly running after one or the other of them. While chasing after them she spotted an open dresser drawer in the girl’s bedroom and proceeded to round up the kittens. One by one she would pick them up and jump up to put them in the open drawer. Once she had all the kittens corralled, she crawled into her “Cabra” Kitten Nest and let out a sigh. She knew they were contained at least for a little while!

Kittens and Christmas Trees

Author: Lady Jane

two-kittens.jpgKittens and Christmas trees are accidents waiting to happen. Being young and full of mischief the shiny balls, blinking lights, and glittering trinkets captures their attention and requires further investigation. How many ornaments get broken by being batted off the tree? How many trees have been toppled over by large sized kittens trying to climb them? What fun though to watch kittens playing among the gaily wrapped packages with their “no longer beautiful bows”. However, there are packages that contain toys and treats to be sniffed out and opened (claws are a plus for this task). The tree is a great place to play, hide, and even take a nap in. A beautiful hand knitted cat bed placed under the tree may entice them to settle down (at least for a while). Hanging toys off their own cat tree could possibly interest them to play there leaving your tree alone. Over all, kitten’s outrageous antics and Christmas are fun any way you look at it

Kitten Play Center

tp_43751.jpgKittens are adorable, lovable little balls of fluff. What fun to watch their crazy antics! Give two kittens a paper sack, and they are in and out of it pouncing on one another and having a great time. A piece of string, catnip mice, and balls with bells in them can entertain them for hours.

Kitten Play Centers provide plenty of exercise while chasing each other up and down and perching precariously on the top. A cozy cat bed provides a wonderful place to nap, although young kittens can suddenly drop in place and fall sound asleep. Curiosity can get them into all kinds of predicaments like jumping into a box that they can’t climb out of, getting a head stuck in a glass while trying to reach the milk. Climbing curtains usually upsets their owners while they are having a good time. Extricating them from some narrow space they tried to explore and can’t escape from is a common occurrence. However, the pleasure derived from watching these mini-clowns outweighs the necessity to bail them out of the results of their mischief.
