Cat Views

Cats can become “collectors” of various objects. Some cats like jewelry and will latch onto various pieces and hide them. My cat was a rock collector, and my neighbor’s cat, Yatzee was a paper collector. He would go out and pick up gum and candy wrappers, receipts, and other various bits of paper. Both cats would bring their treasures into the house and stash them in their favorite spots.

One evening my neighbor’s fuse box caught fire which was pretty scary. She asked me to let the workmen from City Light in the next day to repair it while she was at work. When the workmen arrived I went and opened the door for them, and they just stood and stared in disbelief at the litter all over the house. Yatzee had had a very busy morning! All the trash baskets and tissue boxes had been emptied. When I commented to the workers that her cat had created this mess, I could see that they didn’t believe me. Proof positive, however, was when Yatzee came bounding into the room with the end of the toilet paper in his mouth and the rest of the roll streaming out behind him!
